Inova Alexandria Hospital is a 318-bed community hospital located in Alexandria, VA, a few miles from the nation's Capitol. The Inova Alexandria Hospital post graduate year one (PGY1) Pharmacy Residency is a 12-month ASHP-accredited program that prepares pharmacist clinicians for patient care positions in the inpatient setting.
The Inova Alexandria PGY1 Pharmacy Residency was established in 2013 and received ASHP accreditation in 2014. Our post-graduate training program is designed to prepare pharmacists to pursue a clinical pharmacy career in a health system environment. Our residents have gone on to become patient care clinical pharmacists in a hospital setting or have gone on to matriculate into a PGY2 residency training program in their area of choice.
