Rick Talento, CPA, serves as the Acting Chief Financial Officer of Inova Health System—a position he has held since March 2024—where he is responsible for financial operations including financial reporting, revenue cycle operations, managed care contracting, treasury and investment management. Additionally, his responsibilities include capital planning and forecasting. As part of Inova's executive leadership team, Rick's management and guidance ensure financial stability of the organization, assuring that Inova's healthcare service programs continue to meet the needs of our patients and the community at large.
A seasoned and trusted finance executive with 35 years of professional experience in finance—25 years specifically in healthcare—Rick's Inova career journey dates to the mid-1990s where he served as the organization’s Corporate Controller. After 10 years, Rick decided to pursue an opportunity that enabled him to gain experience in the private equity sector where he was involved in two large sales transactions. Rick returned to Inova in 2013 and has held numerous leadership positions throughout the system since that time, including VP of Finance for Inova Mount Vernon Hospital, Inova Alexandria Hospital and Inova Fairfax Medical Campus.
Prior to his current position as Acting CFO, Rick was head of finance for all of the Inova acute hospitals and service lines. Rick spent the first six years of his career in public accounting with Ernst & Young. A native of Maryland, Rick holds a BS in accounting from the University of Maryland and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
