Inova Fairfax Hospital is one of 53 hospitals nationwide to be named a U.S. News & World Report Best Regional Hospital for Equitable Access for providing outstanding care to underserved communities. This new U.S. News designation recognizes hospitals that both excel in quality and provide substantial access to care to socioeconomically disadvantaged patients. We are proud to be one of just a few dozen hospitals in the country to receive this honor and to continue leading the way in promoting health equity and reducing disparities.
 

Environmental Excellence award seal

All five of Inova hospitals have once again received the Environmental Excellence Award along with the System for Change Award for our commitment and progress toward environmental stewardship and sustainability. The awards are administered by Practice Greenhealth, the nation’s leading organization dedicated to environmental sustainability in healthcare. These awards recognize health systems, hospital facilities, health sector suppliers and member organizations for their work on waste minimization, green buildings, alternative transportation, sustainable purchasing and more.

Inova Fairfax Hospital is the only hospital in Northern Virginia certified as a Level I trauma center, with the recognized expertise to care for the most traumatic, life-threatening injuries. Inova Fairfax Hospital Emergency Department receives about 88,000 patients each year.

acs logoTrauma: Verification, Review, and Consultation (VRC)

The ACS Trauma Verification program sets the standard for the care of injured patients in trauma centers. These standards ensure that the center has the right expertise and is immediately prepared to provide the highest quality of emergency trauma care. These standards are so rigorous that many states use them to designate trauma centers in their region and ACS-verified trauma centers have lower patient mortality rates than non-verified centers.
