With the exception of Inova hospitals, Inova Emergency Care and Inova-GoHealth Urgent Care, all Inova outpatient offices will be closed for the Christmas and New Year's Day holidays – Wednesday, Dec. 25 and Wednesday, Jan. 1.

Some Inova care sites have additional closures for the holidays, which will be noted on the relevant location pages.

About Wayne B. Batchelor, MD

Dr. Wayne Batchelor is President of the Medicine Service Line. He joined Inova in 2019 with more than two decades of executive leadership in academic medicine, private practice, clinical research, and education. He is Professor of Medicine (adj.), Duke University, Chair of the American College of Cardiology (ACC) Interventional Sectional Leadership Council, and Vice-Chair of the STS/ACC Transcatheter Valve Therapy (TVT) Registry. He has previously served as an academic cardiologist at the University of Toronto, President of Southern Medical Group, PA in Tallahassee, Florida, Board Member of Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare, and Co-Founder/President of the Tallahassee Research Institute (TRI). He is internationally recognized for his clinical and research expertise in interventional cardiology, clinical trials, outcomes research, regulatory science, and healthcare disparities in medicine. 

Fostering multidisciplinary collaborations within and between service lines, Dr. Batchelor has successfully built innovative clinical programs and improved patient outcomes within both private practice and academic medical settings. He has published more than 200 peer-reviewed abstracts and manuscripts, multiple book chapters, served on numerous clinical trial steering committees and as National Principal Investigator (PI) on landmark clinical trials in cardiovascular medicine. He is a special consultant to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) within the Cardiovascular Devices Branch, has served on the editorial boards for Circulation, the Journal of the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, and Cardiovascular Revascularization Medicine and is a Senior Advisor and frequent Guest Editor for the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.

Dr. Batchelor earned his bachelor of science and medical degree from Queens University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, a master's degree in clinical research from Duke University, and an Executive MBA from New York University.
