About Eric C. Alcera, MD

Dr. Eric Alcera is the President of the Behavioral Health Service Line at Inova. He is double board-certified in child & adolescent psychiatry and adult psychiatry, with specialized expertise in pediatric psychopharmacology and the treatment of depression, anxiety, and trauma.

With more than 20 years of experience in behavioral health, Dr. Alcera has held numerous leadership roles. He currently serves as Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at Hackensack Meridian Carrier Behavioral Health. He completed his fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Columbia University/New York-Presbyterian Hospital, where he was chief resident.

Prior to joining Hackensack Meridian Health, Dr. Alcera was the Deputy Director of the Child and Adolescent Department at Bellevue Hospital – NYU. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in establishing New York City’s first child partial hospital program.
