Dr. Avik Karmaker is a board-certified general surgeon specializing in minimally invasive robotic surgery. He joined the Inova General Surgery team in 2022.

Dr. Karmaker comes to Inova from New York Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital and has over 13 years of experience practicing in General Surgery.

Dr. Karmaker offers both robotic and laparoscopic techniques in surgery focusing on the unique needs of the individual patient and using the path that is most beneficial to the patient. He treats the following conditions: Appendicitis, Colon Cancer and Diverticulitis, Gallbladder disease, GERD and Reflux disease, Hernias including Abdominal, Inguinal, Femoral and Paraoesophageal, and Skin Cancers and Lesions, Cysts, and Lipomas
